Maps ripped to shreds, wildlife sightings, and a handful of new orienteers were the highlights of the event held at Greasewood Park this Mother's Day.
Participants were fairly evenly divided between the intermediate and advanced options today. The Advanced course and Orange course were identical, except that the advanced course map lacked any trails or permanent course markers, allowing for a bit more of a challenge in this small city park. The Explorer course included all of the Orange controls plus four additional controls from the Yellow course. All of the Yellow course runners were moved to the Explorer course and credited for the controls they found.
Thanks to Melissa Trout for registrar and registration work; Marcy Beard, John Beard, and Billie Lubis for control retrieval; Betsy Lubis for bringing brownies; and Alan Craig and Annie King for helping to haul stuff.
Splits have been adjusted to correct for the two controls with clocks out of sync.
