[Maryvale High School JROTC has participated in various Tucson and Phoenix orienteering club events over the past couple of years.  The following is an edited excerpt from an email report from SFC (Ret) Daryl F. Yost to our two Arizona orienteering clubs.  - Webmaster]

Update (4/9/14):  We've added the requirement that youth group leaders should keep a copy of this form on file and bring it with them to all subsequent events as proof at registration.

All participants under age 18 are required to have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver for them at all TOC events.  But what can you do if your parent/guardian is not able to accompany you or your youth group to the event?   Well, you or your adult group leader can do the following:

If you are a meet director for one of our TOC events or are considering trying it some time, then I encourage you to read this.  It has some helpful and possibly vital information on how to make your meet go smoothly.  You may also use it kind of as a checklist which covers many of the things to do.

As I prepare this past year's 2013 Event Calendar for relegation to the website archives, I'm struck by the number of members who have shared their time and sweat to make our events happen.  These generous folks put on eleven orienteering meets last year, one of which was a regional event.

The Arizona training camp fees will be increasing on December 15th. Please let Barb Bryant know if you are planning to come, to lock in your low rate. The training camp is for all advanced orienteers, with a special focus on intermediate and advanced juniors. OUSA will subsidize attendance for US junior team members and others. For more information, please see this flyer.

Tucson Orienteering Club has approved Lois Kimminau as its new treasurer.  The treasurer's responsibilities include maintaining our club bank account, paying club bills, ensuring that our volunteers receive their reimbursements, and keeping our finances in order year-to-year.  Lois will be replacing Jeff Berringer, who we would like to thank for his many years of dedicated service to the club as the previous treasurer.
Thank you very much, Lois, and we are looking forward to working with you!
