Come for a fun summer evening using an aerial map to find as many controls as you can in whatever order you like, then get back to the start point in one hour or start losing those hard won points.

Winterhaven is a very pretty neighborhood of charming houses, each one quite different. Katie Zeiweid will be setting her first course with the goal of testing your map reading skills.

Four rules:
1.       Do not set foot on private property.
2.       Do not get hit by a car.
3.       Reserve a map by emailing florianopolissc (-at-) yahoo (-dot-) com by 4 pm July 14 with the names of each person attending. Title the note “Winterhaven”. If you do not RSVP, you will have to wait until 6:30 pm to start and then only if we have any extra maps.
4.       It’s a game! Just have fun!

Bring: water and a timepiece. Wear light clothing or reflectors since it will be getting dark. Compasses are optional for this meet. Look for the sun setting in the west to calculate direction.

Scoring: Each correct answer = 1 point. Each wrong answer = minus 1 point. Each minute or fraction thereof after 60 minutes = minus 1 point.

Directions:  The Start/Finish point will be at the  corner of Christmas and Kleindale. The neighborhood association has asked us to not park at the start. If you drive, please park cars on the major roads surrounding the neighborhood. Bike parking is welcome at the start.

Fees:  $3/individual, $5/team for all comers.

Friend-For-Free:  Members may invite one guest for free to this event. For details and restrictions, click here.

Schedule: Brave the heat and hope for a beautiful sunset or even rain.
