As Spring comes to an end we can look forward to a fun-filled, fast-paced urban-style score-O event at the University of Arizona.  The course will have 29 locations marked on a detailed color map.  At each location you will answer a multiple-choice question about something there.  A correct answer earns 10 points but a wrong answer is penalized 10 points.  You'll have 90 minutes, with a 10-point-per-minute penalty for going overtime.  There will be a free clinic for beginners.

The 1:5000-scale University of Arizona map is highly detailed and accurate.   With careful attention to it you will be able to decipher many time-saving shortcuts as you navigate your way to each control check point, as well as be able to avoid barriers to travel, such as construction zones, which will be shown on the map based on surveys of the campus done just a few days prior.  With a keen reading of the map, the fastest of you might even be able to clean up the entire course in way under the 90 minute allotted time!

If you are a member of our club, you may invite one guest for free to this event.  For details and restrictions, click here.

The meet directors for this event are Gregg and Pat Townsend.   Call Pat at (520) 622-4180 or email ptownsend (-at-) pima (-dot-) edu if you have questions.  Please offer to help out with registration, timing, or control retrieval.  The fees collected at each event only cover the costs for permits, insurance, transportation, map printing, supplies, and equipment used at the event.  They don’t cover planning, organizing, or running the event.   It is only through the generous volunteer effort of us club members by which these events can happen!

Directions:  The University of Arizona campus is southwest of Speedway and Campbell. Start/Finish/Registration will be at the ramada in the park on the south side of First Street, just west of Cherry Ave and just east of Learning Services.  You can safely park in a “Zone 1” lot on a Sunday.  There’s one at the corner of Speedway and Cherry and another on Vine north of First Street.  Or park your bike right at the start!
