This fun event will be a 10 or 20 (your choice) control Score-O with a 3-hour time limit. How quickly can you get 10 or 20 controls? This event will use a 1:15,000 aerial photo of Old Bisbee, including downtown and Brewery Gulch.  Register now!

Schedule: Registration after 8:30 a.m.  Starts: 9 to 10 a.m.  Last start by 10:15 a.m.  Course closes at 1 p.m.  High Desert Market is an excellent place for lunch.

Pre-Registration is Required: Please reserve a map by Wednesday, October 13th, using any of the three following methods: Click here to register online, or email Mark at orienteeringmark (at) yahoo (period) com, or call Mark at 520-432-2817.

Fees: $5/individual, $8/team for members of any recognized orienteering club. $10/individual, $15/team for nonmembers. Compasses rent for $1.  Safety whistles sell for $1.  Every person, all courses, all meets, must have some type of safety whistle.

Directions: Exit I-10 at Hwy 80 (exit 303).  Take 80 to Bisbee.  After going through the tunnel, exit 80 at Tombstone Canyon (mp 339.7) and proceed down the canyon to the Iron Man statue (by the court house and across the street from the High Desert Market and Café).  This turn to the right is about a mile and a half after you exited Highway 80.  Go up the hill, bearing right, between the court house and the Catholic Church and immediately turn left to go above and behind the court house.  Drive between the rear of the court house and its annex building up a steep hill (NOT Higgins Avenue).  You will next turn right (Key Avenue) and circle (enter) a small park (grassy, courts, ramadas, and the city pool.)  This is Higgins Park.  Now you should see us at the far ramada.  If there is no room to park in this parking lot, park in the lot behind the county annex building you just passed.  Parking is extremely limited in Old Bisbee, so you may want to consider carpooling.  The court house can also be approached from downtown Old Bisbee, the second exit off of Highway 80 after the tunnel.  Vicinity Map  Closeup Map

The Residents:  Remember to respect people's privacy.  Some of the public stairs and pathways may take you within inches of residents' windows, so if you are with a "team," please try to keep your voices low when talking as you pass close by their homes, especially during the morning hours.

Camping:  There is a nice, former KOA nearby.  It has shaded tent sites, showers, etc. I called the new owner and he has lots of room for that weekend.  His tent sites are $15 and phone # is 364-4000. It is about 8 miles east of Bisbee on Double Adobe Rd. Directions: Go east from Bisbee on hwy  80,towards Douglas, to mp 347.7 which is Double Adobe Rd. Turn left and go  about 4 miles to the Double Adobe Campground on your right.
