Tucson Orienteering Club will be hosting an orienteering event Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Catalina State Park in Tucson, AZ.   There will be three courses:  a short beginner level course mostly on the trails (1.5 to 2.0 km), a medium length course with a moderate/orange level of difficulty (3.0-4.5 km) and a longer course of with a more advanced/green to red level of difficulty (4.5 to 6.0 km).

The late monsoon season rains helped the desert to green up nicely and has made the vegetation more plentiful in some areas.  In addition to the majestic saguaro cacti and thorny shrubs there will be some clingy weeds and grass seeds.  The event center will be at the Picnic Ramada where there is a large ramada and a nearby restroom facility.
