The Tucson Orienteering Club is spiffing up its control markers by repairing them and replacing worn-out and missing components as the need arises.  New replacement code cards and "Do-Not-Remove" cards, along with other repair related components, are stocked in the Course Setter's bins that are in the Club's equipment storage unit.

Box Canyon is the newest map to be completed by the Tucson Club!  Although some western portions of the map had been mapped by late 2005, the final areas in the far eastern reaches were not field checked until very recently - March 2009.

Congratulations to Cristina on her fine showing! She is only listed as a member of DVOA so that she can run on their relay team. We view her as one of our own. Quote from Peter Gagarin (USOF):

Over the past three days there was some wonderful orienteering brought to us by the folks at the Delaware Valley Orienteering Association (DVOA).  These three days also served as the Team Trials to pick the team to represent the USA at the World Champs in the Czech Republic in July. I had the pleasure early this afternoon of announcing the team –

For the women: Sandra Zurcher (UNO), Samantha Saeger (NEOC), Hillary Saeger (NEOC), Pavlina Brautigam (WCOC), and Viktoria Brautigam (WCOC), plus alternates Angelica Riley (DVOA) and Cristina Luis (DVOA).
